Gordy Vogelaar began racing go-karts and snowmobiles in the late 1970's. In 1982, he began his open wheel career driving his own #99 sprint car for ten years in both the 317 cubic inch and the 410 cubic inch divisions. Before the 1993 season, Gordy landed in the Summer Racing Group #75 Sprinter. This has resulted in five Jackson Track Championships, two Rapid Speedway Championships, one Track Championship at Worthington Speedway and a Track Championship in the 410 class at Hartford. In the mid 1990's the Summer Racing Group traveled the Wissota Circuit attaining "top 3" finishes in the National Wissota Point Standings in 1994, 1995, 1997, and 1998. With over 60 feature wins, Gordy isn't done yet. Gordy resides in Worthington with wife Brenda and 2 daughters, Jessie and Lexy. Look for the Summer Racing Group at a dirt track near you.
